Why do we fear the witch?

You’ve felt her power in the chill of an October night, under the light of a full moon, and in the crackling of the cauldron’s fire— but what happens when we strip away the character of the witch and reveal the woman underneath?

The Resurrection of the Witch is a documentary about the complicated and often misunderstood legacy of witchcraft, told through the stories of modern witches.

Join award-winning documentarian Erin Bagwell on a journey to redefine the power, vulnerability, of what it means to step into your power and find the magick within.

This film is a conversation about what happens in culture when we fear the witch and what happens when we set her free.

About the Filmmaker

“For centuries women are born with a power we’ve been conditioned to hide. But we don’t have to hide anymore.”

Hi I’m Erin Bagwell and I am an award-winning documentary filmmaker, mother, and intuitive medium.

I’ve spent the last decade creating media to uplift and celebrate complicated, ambitious, and lustrous women. This time, I want to talk about our spirituality. If woman can’t view themselves as leaders until they see themselves in leadership positions, then what happens when all our religions iconography and power is held in the hands of men?

How can women spiritually evolve if we don’t view ourselves as divine?

My new film The Resurrection of the Witch asks us to think about our history with a new lens, and open our hearts and our minds to the possibility that we might just have all the power we need inside.
