50+ Hours of Feminist Ruckus

When Diana and I were working together on Dream, Girl, the first 15-20 minutes of each day were set aside for a pop culture and feminist observational debrief.

I’d dish about a Netflix show, she’d tell me if the new blockbuster movie was worth seeing, and we would share our thoughts, ideas, and frustrations with the way women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community were being portrayed in the mainstream media.

Every couple of weeks one of us would say “we should really start a podcast” before we inevitably had to get back to work.

It wasn’t until my friend Kent, who runs the Atlantic Transmission Podcast Network asked me about rebooting my old podcast that I thought Diana and I could officially take our morning show banter and critical views on gender to the airwaves.

Fast forward a year and Diana and I have logged more than 50+ hours in the ATPN studio hosting BeaverTalk, the podcast where we give Hollywood unsolicited feminist advice and notes about what’s happening in the mainstream media.

We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, and looking back on 2018 it’s been one of my absolute favorite projects to produce and be a part of. To chat about the feminist pop culture I love with one of my best friends over coffee every Wednesday morning is a pure delight.

And in case you’ve never listened, Diana and I put together a list of our favorite 10 episodes to help you get started. Click on any episode to start listening!

  1. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

  2. Tully
